I am coming back to this page - neglected since 2015 - older, humbled, grateful to have photography as an anchor. Life-changing challenges put this webpage far down my priority list for a half decade.

Photography has been my creative outlet since my late teens. I love the alchemy of film and darkroom work.
My stable of cameras ranges from 35mm to a studio-only 8x10 view camera. Pinhole cameras have become a favourite - for their portability, as well as their unique perspective and challenges.

It's important to me to be fully engaged with the process. The slow pace demanded by film, especially pinhole and large format, I find meditative. Cameras with no electronics or automatic settings demand full attention and an understanding of what happens when light hits film. While I enjoy traditional silver gelatin B&W printing, Lith printing is now my favourite process when I get into the darkroom. (Lithing takes longer and is more challenging - of course it grabbed my heart.) Historical processes - cyanotype, gum bichromate, platinum/palladium are used for some of my larger format negatives. Photograms - lumen prints, wet cyanotypes and cyano-lumens were brought into my repetoire when long hours in the darkroom were not physically possible.

When life got most difficult I never stopped playing with light, film, paper and chemicals. I hope you enjoy my updated gallery.
